Federal Solar Investment Tax Credits

Texas Solar Property Tax Exemption

Thanks to the renewable power assets tax exemption, citizens of the Lone Star State donโ€™t have to worry about extra taxes because the property value increases by installing solar systems.

Texas Solar Rebates and Tax Credits

Texas residents are eligible for a number of solar blessings, but maximum of them are hyperlocal in place of statewide regulations.

In lieu of a statewide net metering policy, utility agencies in the country have guidelines that credit proprietors of solar systems for electricity their panels produce that isn’t used. Texans can then use those credit โ€” alternatively of purchasing electricity from the utility โ€” if their panels arenโ€™t producing sufficient power to fulfill their usage needs, which include at night or in the course of a cloudy season.

A short list of utilities in the state that offer net metering benefits include:

Additionally, citizens in neighborhoods ruled by a house ownersโ€™ association, or HOA, needs not to worry about HOA guidelines that could keep them from installing solar on their assets. Texas has a solar rights regulation that prevents HOAs from banning solar power structures on individual houses.

financing options

We offer several financing options, including:

  • Loan

Our loan option allows you to finance the cost of your solar panel system through a lender. This can be a good option for those who want to own their solar panel system and see the long-term savings from owning the system.

  • Lease agreement

Our lease agreement allows you to lease the solar panels for a set period of time, with the option to purchase the system at the end of the lease. This can be a good option for those who want to see the savings from solar power before committing to a purchase.

  • PPA (Power Purchase Agreement)

Our PPA option allows you to pay for the electricity your solar panels produce, rather than the panels themselves. This can be a great option for those who don't have the upfront capital to invest in a solar panel system.

Benefits of Investing in Solar System

Residential solar systems are eligible for a 30% federal tax credit, for now, primarily based on the whole system price. Solar systems also are property tax exempt. They increase the value of your property, but legally it does not increase your property tax.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, homes with solar panels sold at a higher rate than homes without solar systems over a nine-year term. For a relatively new, average-sized system with a 3,100-watt rating, the average premium for a home with solar panels, was around $17,000. Nearly 100,000 individual solar systems have been installed in California. They are mostly residential, about 90% of them.

“Home with PV installed to act as a market differentiator which boosts the home sales process and gives an advantage to the builders. This might be one of the reasons for the disparity between existing and new homes with PV, a factor not analyzed in the Berkeley Lab study,” says Berkeley Lab researcher and co-author Peter Cappers.
